Introduction
Created by Barry Kemp and Sheldon Bull, WEB Newhart is an affable long-running series that brings the comedian's trademark gentle humor to his role as a Vermont innkeeper. The show follows Dick Loudon and his wife Joanna as they leave the hustle and bustle of New York City for the peace and quiet of rural Vermont, where they purchase and run a small inn. Dick is a how-to book writer who eventually becomes a newspaper columnist, while Joanna works as a realtor and co-owns the inn.
