Celtics Catch Fire in 4th, Stun Warriors in Game 1

Al Horford Scores 26 Points Including a Career-High Six 3-Pointers

Boston Uses a 17-0 Run in the 4th

The 2022 NBA Finals began with a bang on Thursday night, as the Boston Celtics stole home-court advantage with a 120-108 Game 1 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors looked poised to take control of the game in the third quarter, building a 15-point lead. However, the Celtics showed their resilience by chipping away at the deficit in the fourth quarter. A 17-0 run midway through the period gave Boston the lead for good.

Al Horford led the way for the Celtics with 26 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers. Jayson Tatum added 21 points, while Jaylen Brown had 18.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 21 points, while Klay Thompson added 21 and Jordan Poole had 19. However, Golden State's usually reliable offense struggled in the fourth quarter, scoring just 12 points.

The Warriors will look to bounce back in Game 2 on Sunday night. However, the Celtics have shown that they are a formidable opponent and will be a tough matchup for Golden State throughout the series.
